 This month's Volunteer Highlight is Kristine Orr and her husband Chip.
They've been volunteering at Manna Ministries Leland for approximately two years. Every week, they pick up grocery donations from Lowes Foods, and bring them to Manna's storage room. On sorting Mondays, the food they deliver gets sorted and prepared for distribution. When asked why they serve at Manna, they answered, "We serve God by serving others, simple as that." Let's give a huge shout-out to Chip and Kristine Orr. We could not do this ministry without people like them who work behind the scenes to make Manna happen!

 Jen Neofotistos, known by many as "Heart Jen," started volunteering at Manna January of 2023. Initially, she only came as a leader with her church's youth group. But she realized she'd missed being involved and loved helping people.
As she put it, "I felt that if I didn't come back, I was slacking off for Jesus." And she hasn't looked back. Now, she helps stock and organize the storage closet, where we store our pantry items. She ensures these pantry items are up to date and properly labeled so we can easily inventory what we need to order each month. Although most people who come through the line don't see her, her warm, friendly attitude uplifts the volunteers around her. Jen is a vital part of our ministry, and we are grateful she is a part of the team! |
